What is the validity of a notary?
The word “validity” does not apply to notary services.
A notarial jurat is evidence of only one thing: the person who’s signature appeared on the notarized document signed the document in the presence of the notary and produced evidence that they are who they say they are. That’s all. A notarized document is not rendered “valid” by a jurat. All kinds of invalid documents can be notarized. The notary doesn’t even have to read the document itself, and often doesn’t. |
